SCHOOL CLOSING UPDATE: Campus Closed Thursday & Friday

MESSAGE FROM THE ADMINISTRATION

Bishop Gregory Parkes has announced that Catholic School buildings in the Diocese of St. Petersburg will be closed on Friday, September 27 to allow school leaders time to check their buildings before safely welcoming students back.

Today and Friday are asynchronous online learning days for CCC students. Asynchronous learning days are utilized to document student learning. Students will be required to check Canvas for updated lesson plans for their classes (both RED & YELLOW Day classes). Since not all families will have the same struggles with the storm, we will be flexible with deadlines as needed.

We cannot promise or assume that we will not have to make off-campus days up in the future, and we will provide further information as it becomes available.

The following questions and answers reference specific situations that may arise:

  • What if my family loses power or evacuates this week and my child is unable to log in for online learning?

We understand that students may have limited access to power and technology in these scenarios. We are also aware that depending on their living situations, some families may have recovery or return from evacuation situations during these days. Therefore, we will prioritize flexibility and support for our students, faculty, and families over this period. Some teachers may record lessons accessible through CANVAS as additional support for students who need it.

  • Will schools be closed on Friday?

YES, school is closed on Friday, Sept. 27.
