October Greetings from Dr. Venturella October 2024 Update with Dr. V School President Dr. John A. Venturella checks in with the Marauder community about the latest in the CCC world. Show Transcript hello CCC Community as we bid farewell to a very turbulent september I hope the month of October greets each of you warmly and most importantly dryly we've had a great many successful moments so far this school year including a delightful marada mixer event for our Freshman Class parents a School record number of 4 National Merit semi-finalists and 5 commended students in the class of 2025 and the highest number of enrollment we have seen in more than a decade but before we look ahead I want to send my most sincere support to all the CCC families who are impacted by Hurricane haleen last week many of whom will continue feeling those impacts in the days and months ahead our administrators faculty and staff are here to support our families as they navigate their individual paths to recovery from this devastating storm that's what makes this school community so special the way we show up for each other on both our best days and our most trying days too and we truly hope that October and the rest of the semester does hold some of our best days yet we have much to look forward next Wednesday October 9th our 9th through 11th grade students will take the PSAT National standardized test for our freshmen this is a critical practice test to get familiar with this testing format for the sophomores some students may qualify to participate in the ray Dass Merit program as a result of this year's score lastly this year's PSAT scores will determine among our Juniors and National Merit qualifiers We wish all our Marauders the best of luck and a good night's rest as they prepare for next week that same evening October 9th is also ccc's discover night where we host families of prospect active Marauders on campus for an in-depth look at all our school has to offer if you know any families with a middle school that you'd love to welcome to CCC please encourage them to register for this event a few more exciting events on the horizon include our annual Golf Classic fundraiser which is currently sold out for player slots though we may have a sponsorship opportunity still available contact coach Harvey in the advancement office if you're interested the final week of October is homecoming week CCC while we always have many fun events planned for the students throughout the week including Traditions like hallway decorating sidewalk competition Spirit links and the pep rally we also really enjoy welcoming our alumni back on campus for the homecoming game and alumni tailgate as we like to say once a Marauder forever and Marauder lastly I would like to bring your attention to a club on campus that's near and dear to my heart and not just because I've been asked to be moderator sophomore is Dylan and Delaney day recently approached me about in reinvigorating the Community Builders Club an organization originally founded by their older brother Ryan from the class of 2021 their objectives to find new and service oriented ways to connect the CCC student body with our local community partnering with organizations like nursing homes and assisted living facilities to Foster those connections via volunteer opportunities its invigorating to see students taking initiative with such worthy intentions and I look forward to seeing how this club grows and evolves thank you so much for your continuous support of our school our mission and all our community members your generous pledges to our charitable tuition partnership are sincerely appreciated and your delivered contributions make a marked difference in our ability to provide access to a Catholic Education to all who desire it I treasure the relationships that I have built within our school community over the last 20 years and I look forward to the connections I have yet to make with many of you we are all blessed to call CCC home and to call 1 another family God bless
